The Polymer IRC

The Interdisciplinary Research Centre in Polymer Science and Technology (The Polymer IRC) brings together scientists from the Universities of Bradford, Durham, Leeds and the Sheffield Polymer Centre to form the largest group of Polymer Specialists in Europe.

Key areas of scientific and technical strength offered by the IRC include:

• Polymer Synthesis
• Materials science and characterisation
• Engineering
• Theory and modelling

The IRC is designed specifically to encourage projects that employ the different skills offered by the partner institutions. Currently the IRC is emphasising the following programmes:

• Biological macromolecules, interactions and applications
• New macromolecular architectures
• Reactive processing
• Polymers for electronics
