There are normally four or five vacancies for PhD students at any time within the centre as a whole. Degrees offered range from the 'traditional' to truly interdisciplinary, where your work might span two or more departments or faculties! Interdisciplinary degrees at PhD level are normally within well established research areas (synthetic skin, nano machines etc.) and retain the high levels of student support commonly only found in single department degrees.
