This new library features a fascinating selection of images and movies, which illustrate the field of nano-scale science and technology. The images are all of a high technical standard, and are available online at print resolution. Images and movies can be downloaded from the library under the Creative Commons (CC) license, making them an excellent, attributable resource for education and other uses.

Andy Eccleston created the library during his EPSRC sponsored research residency in the University of Sheffield’s Physics and Astronomy department. A visual artist, Andy worked under the scientific supervision of Professor Richard Jones FRS (EPSRC Strategic Advisor for Nanotechnology) to prepare a visually stunning feast that manages to avoid the realms of fantasy.

The creators hope that scientists will continue to support the project, submitting new images to help build up a comprehensive online library.
