Plueddemann Award

The Edwin P. Plueddemann Award for Excellence in Composite Interface Research was created by the sponsorship of Dow Corning Corporation in honour of late Dr. Plueddemann's great achievement in silane coupling agent development and under-standing the reinforcement mechanisms in composite materials. He developed the majority of commercially used silanes. This award was originally given during the International Conference on Composite Interfaces (ICCI) and now the new unified conference, International conference of Interfaces and Interphases in Multicomponent Materials. The award is given to those who contributed significantly the understanding composite interfaces and carries the honorarium of $2,000.

The previous recipients of the Award are:

Every member of the community is invited to nominate a colleague, who deserved nomination by hgis achievements and contribution to the better understanding of interfaces and interphases in Multicomponent Materials. Nomination must be done in writing and the letter of nomination should be accompanied by the full resume of the nominee. We need the maximum possible nominations in order to be able to select the most appropriate person.
