METRC universities top for researchPosted on Friday, March 6th, 2009 in News| Share this article
HEFCE, the Higher Education Funding Council for England, has announced its funding allocation for universities for 2009-10. And we are delighted to announce that METRC partner universities have dominated the list of 20 top performers, with 7 of the METRC universities in the top 20 ( Lancaster University, our 8th partner, only just failed to make the top 20 being in 21st place).
The HEFCE funding is allocated according to performance in the 2008 research assessment exercise, which assesed the strength and quality of research at each university. The universities which were judged to have the highest quality of research are awarded the highest allocation from HEFCE. So it is no surprise that our partner universities did so well.
