Research at the Polymer Centre
Professor Steve P Armes, Polymer Centre Director
The Polymer Centre is the UK’s largest single-university network of polymer science and engineering research groups. Our people conduct research into every aspect of polymer science, from the development of new chemistry, theories and measurement techniques through to applications in healthcare, energy, transport and consumer goods. Key to the Centre’s research success are collaborative relationships involving academics in the Faculties of Science, Engineering and Medicine and the Advanced Manufacturing Institute. We make internationally-leading contributions to research in Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Biomaterials and Healthcare and Electronics and Photonics, working in interdisciplinary partnerships with colleagues from industry and academia.
We are always keen to collaborate with companies since we recognise the importance of industrial involvement to bring ideas and prototypes to market and to identify pertinent and fascinating new avenues of research.
