Research interests: Vibration damping using Polymers. Characterisation of materials in terms of their damping characteristics. Parameters derived are then applied in finite element models to estimate the characteristics of the material in service. The work is heavily applied; materials passing test criteria are subsequently incorporated into engine and other test beds in industry, prior to production.
