FaraPack scaling upPosted on Saturday, October 31st, 2009 in News| Share this article
FaraPack Polymers Ltd announces the commissioning of a scale-up facility for polymer synthesis and formulation. Based in the University of Sheffield’s Department of Chemistry, the new 10 litre Lara® Controlled Lab Reactor offers a safe and reproducible means to prepare multi-kilogram quantities of materials, whether trials of innovations emerging from University research or commercial batches of high-value products.
Paul Hirst, Director of Sheffield-based Octi-Tech Ltd, said, “the local availability of Lara® combined with FaraPack’s flexibility enabled us to prepare 50 litres of a trial coating formulation in just two weeks. The speed and quality of the response puts us ahead of the curve in developing an innovative printing process.”
FaraPack Polymers offers contract R&D in polymer science and engineering in association with the Polymer Centre and is wholly owned by the University of Sheffield. For more information, please visit the FaraPack Polymers website, or contact Chris Saywell, Operations Manager, on 0114 222 9499.
